Huma Abedin has announced her divorce from former U.S. representative Anthony Weiner. Ms. Abedin’s statement comes following an August 28, 2016 article by the New York Post, which published sexually provocative texts between Mr. Weiner and an unknown underage 17-year old.
Ms. Abedin has stood by Weiner during two previous texting controversies (the current one being by far the most severe.)
With the latest controversy, Mr. Weiner seems to have crossed the thin line of motherhood by including an image of the couple’s child asleep in the bed alongside a close-up photograph of Mr. Weiner’s weaner (albeit, in a pair of tight, whiteys.)
Rather than conclude his texting on the night in question, Mr. Weiner incorporated his son into his paramour endeavor. He texted, “someone just climbed into my bed.” (Unlike Mr. Weiner, this interruption would turn 99.9% of women completely off the mood, which seems to have happened with his 17-year old conquest.)
While the former Congressman thought he had sent the message by private channel, the Post reports he grew scared he had made the image public and texted, “Ooooooh . . . I was scared. For half a second I thought I posted something. Stop looking at my crotch.”
Sadly, the half second which followed Mr. Weiner’s fear did not prove enough time for Mr. Weiner to override the need to have his manhood confirmed.
Thanks to Mr. Weiner’s insufficient judgment and control of compulsions, the image of the couple’s child is public (although the NY Post did obscure the child’s face.)
One can assume that even Mr. Weiner understands the severity of the problem of his own making.
From the Urban Dictionary: “Crotch shot: A quick frame, usually in a music video or movie, that shows a guys crotch covered with pants. Most likely used to draw in a female audience.”
Ms. Abedin announced in a statement, “After long and painful consideration and work on my marriage, I have made the decision to separate from my husband. Anthony and I remain devoted to doing what is best for our son, who is the light of our life. During this difficult time, I ask for respect for our privacy.”
The incident has placed Democrats in an uncomfortable position, in that for once there is something with which to agree with Donald Trump, the Republican candidate for U.S. President.
While not for altruistic reasons, Mr. Trump’s first statement on the matter included, “Mr. Abedin is making a very wise decision.”
He then forgot all decorum and attempted to tie the Abedin-Weiner family matter to Mrs. Clinton’s lack of judgment in securing state secrets.
Mr. Trump’s statement read, “It is possible that our country and its security have been greatly compromised by this.”
If U.S. state security relies on Mr. Weiner’s ability to keep his plumped man parts properly sheathed, the country is in greater trouble than many have assumed.
