The Works Project Administration, as part of the American New Deal, worked with local and state governments to employ Americans and to elevate the lifestyle of Americans struggling through the Depression. New York City’s Housing Authority utilized resources from the project to promote public housing. These posters were created between 1936 – 1938 and bare the hallmarks of both the vernacular and the art deco styling of the period.
